Want to learn how compound growth works? Look at Taylor Swift’s career

“The most powerful force in finance isn’t genius or perfect timing. It’s patience plus consistency.”

Katie examines how Taylor Swift’s career can teach us about compound growth. One of the most important elements to compound growth is time – just like Taylor Swift’s career has grown exponentially over time. From a 16-year-old with a guitar and a Love Story to a 35-year-old worth more than 2 billion dollars living The Life of a Showgirl.

The financial red flags that are costing you more than money

One of the most important economic partnerships you can enter is a long-term romantic relationship. Katie covers some of the potential red flags that may reveal if you and your partner are financially incompatible or worse – that there may be elements of controlling behaviour when it comes to finances. She shares what to look for and some reality checks about what to do next.

The Great Wealth Transfer is coming – and we’re pretending it’s not

Over the next 20 years, Kiwis will inherit more than a trillion dollars of intergenerational wealth. Katie explores the largest wealth transfer in New Zealand’s history – and how we can make sure to begin the conversation within our families, so that we are prepared for when it happens.

Your success is built on everyday habits – not dreams

Summer Reading:
Atomic Habits by James Clear

“You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.”

Though it’s not solely focused on finances, Atomic Habits has wisdom that will help you build your money habits for success. We often share James Clear’s frameworks when we talk about building strong systems that push you to stay on track to succeed when you might otherwise slack off. Reading this book will support you to build the life you want to be living.

Hot Tip: Stack your habits. Pair a new habit with something you already do. If you journal once a week, add checking up on your financial progress to your journal time. If you use a spreadsheet to track your exercise, add a sheet to track your money goals. Work with the systems you naturally gravitate towards and see the benefits grow.

Knowing isn’t doing

You’ve watched the webinars, listened to countless podcast episodes, taken in every TikTok and LinkedIn post promoting financial wisdom. You may have even read Atomic Habits and started to build the systems that serve you best. You’ve taken the time to build your knowledge and invest in your own growth.

Now, turn that time investment into action.

It’s hard to do it on your own – and it can take a lot longer to see that momentum build. Gain accountability and clarity with an expert adviser in your corner. Book a consultation with an enable.me financial coach in the New Year to get strategic with your financial plan. Costs apply.
